In addition to the choice of tunsten carbide button grade, how to choose the drill bit design is very important for the drilling work efficiency, also it will have a direct impact on the hole effect & vertical degree. How to choose the bit tooth type:
Spherical buttons: The height of exposed teeth is low, mainly used in the very hard rock formation above F14, to improve wear resistance, to prevent the situation of debris, it should take lower drilling speed.
Ballistic buttons: It can expose more height of buttons, mainly used in soft rock and ordinary rock below F12, with quicker drilling speed, but encountered hard rock, very easily to happen buttons debris phenomenon.
1. Soft rock drill bit
Uses: mainly used in non-crushing hardness, hardness F=8 or less, non-abrasive rock, it’s more suitable to take new drop center face, the bit diameter is small, with semi-ballistic buttons or ballistic buttons, which will be easier to discharge debris to help improve work efficiency, the tungsten carbide wear resistance is good.
2. Medium-hard rock drill bit
Uses: used in ordinary rock hardness, hardness F=8~14, non-abrasive rock. It’s more suitable to take flat face, the bit diameter is bit, with spherical buttons.
3. Hard rock drill bit
Uses: mainly used in the rock hardness above F=14, non-abrasive rock, with bigger & spherical buttons, the tungsten carbide buttons impact resistance and wear resistance is better, but the cost is higher than the ordinary type as its bigger button diameter.
4. Abrasive rock drill bit
Uses: mainly used in high abrasive quartz rock, and the button diameter & height is big, with more smooth face design in order to exclude rock slag easily, with better impact resistance and abrasion resistance.
5. Retractable drill bit
Uses: mainly used in rock with gap, and the rock formation changeable, it’s mostly take drop center face with retract design, and it’s more easily to disassemble the rods & bits.
